In recent years, we’ve seen the fashion industry shift its focus from cheap, fast manufacturing to eco-friendly fabrics and ethical production. Fashion is officially becoming more environmentally friendly._x000D_ _x000D_ In this blog post, we’re celebrating a designer who’s turned their attention to saving our seas with stylish swimwear made from plastic waste. Yes, really._x000D_ _x000D_ Introducing AURIA_x000D_ _x000D_ AURIA is the brainchild of founder Diana Auria and her flatmate, graphic designer Margot Bowman. AURIA then went on to be chosen as one of Selfridges’ 'Bright New Things', showcased in the Oxford Street store._x000D_ _x000D_ Making sustainable sexy _x000D_ _x000D_ The word ‘sustainable’ is often associated with dull colours and scratchy textures. Yet AURIA’s swimwear is the polar opposite: colourful, playful and modern._x000D_ Every product is made from 100% recycled material – meaning you can save the sea while swimming in it. The sustainable fibre is ECONYL®, a nylon yarn made from discarded products such as fishing nets, old carpets and plastic waste._x000D_ _x000D_ The regenerated nylon is also regenerable, meaning it can be infinitely used and reworked._x000D_ _x000D_ So not only is AURIA using waste products to create striking swimwear, but also ensuring never to create any waste from the products._x000D_ _x000D_  _x000D_ Screen Shot 2017-07-24 at 13.57.00_x000D_ ‘In today’s world we have many choices.
